The Technology Transfer Center hosts an Intellectual Property Seminar “Smart Tips and Insights - U.S. Patent Prosecution Practice”

The Technology Transfer Center (TTC) hosted an Intellectual Property (IP) Seminar “Smart Tips and Insights - U.S. Patent Prosecution Practice” on 11 October 2017 at the SCI/HOME. The seminar featured Cindy Yang, partner in the IP Division of the international law firm Duane Morris LLP, and the co-head of the firm's Financial Technology (“FinTech”) Industry Practice Group, to provide a better understanding of US patent system.

In the seminar, Ms Yang explained the US patent prosecution process and the anatomy of the US patent application. She provided tips and insights regarding US patents application by giving examples on patent application in biotechnology/chemical and electrical/software industries, bring in-depth insights of patent application to an audience of 43 undergraduate, postgraduate students, faculty and staff from 12 units.

TTC has been hosting the IP Seminar Series since 2000 to disseminate updated IP information and knowledge to HKUST community members.  The series has hosted 46 seminars and attracted more than 2600 participants so far.
